Kenyan Mall Terrorism: Is America barking up the wrong tree?

"Several gunmen remain inside a besieged mall in Nairobi, Kenya, two senior officials said, as a deadly standoff between Kenyan forces and terrorists stretches into a fourth day.
Kenya's Interior Ministry tweeted late Monday that authorities were in control of the Westgate Shopping Mall -- the latest in a series of social media posts from officials reassuring a nervous public that there was little chance of escape for any surviving Al-Shabaab gunmen who had terrorized the mall, killing at least 62 people."
As I read that excerpt from the CNN story this morning on this latest outrage from Islamic terrorists, I can't help but think back to 9/11 and President Bush's hastily convened Address to the Nation during which he described the Islamic fundamentalists who had carried out the attack on the Twin Towers of the World Trade center in NYC as "terrorists" and "Islamic fundamentalists"!
I remember shaking my head then and wondering if that was a faux pas (which continues to this day), for by using those labels, America had mislabeled the militants. America had missed the chance to isolate and distinguish these militants and mainstream Muslims. If America had played its cards right, this would have cut the feet from under the militants and reduced their chances of obtaining funding and support from the Muslim world. What's in a name? Plenty! This little miscue had long term costs as events had subsequently proven.
In truth, the militants who had carried out that dastardly act on 9/11 and the many other outrages since then are really "Islamic deviationists" for the religion of Islam does not endorse the use of such indiscriminate acts of terrorism as part of their jihad. These malcontents and misguided souls are truly deviating from the tenets of their religion and are no different from the cults and deviationists in other religions. Just as deviants from other religions earn the odium and contempt of true practitioners of the religion, these Islamic deviationists would find their support quickly eroded if such a strategy is followed. They'd become ostracized by fellow Muslims around the world.
Failing to understand and highlight this has turned this fight against terrorism into a clash of civilizations. You'd be surprised how many Muslims actually empathize and sympathize with the "terrorists" because of this miscalculation! Mainstream Muslims are left feeling tarred with the same brush as the "terrorists and Islamic fundamentalists".
It is about time that America wakes up to this reality and fine tune their psy-war against the Islamic deviationist groups such as Al Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram, et al and finally turn the tide against their ilk. Only then can the war against these deviants be finally won.
What's politics got to do with the Success Code Club, you might ask? Plenty, for in our search for the secrets to success, it is important to do our bit to make the world a better place. If the politicians cannot see the forest for the trees, it is incumbent upon us to enlighten the world. If, however, you are only interested in finding the true secrets to success, WATCH THIS VIDEO.
